Facilitating Co-created Transformations
Jun 01-03, 2020
A 3-day event where you will discover a systematic approach to enterprise transformation to promote engagement, gain adoption and enable a lean agile culture.

Co-creating Transformations is a feedback-driven approach to manage transformation in rapidly evolving environments, and provides a set of values and practices to include those impacted into the design of the transition. It has been proven in enterprises of various sizes, non-profit organizations and government agencies, helping groups shift towards a sustainable and continual change mindset.

Apply co-created transformations to change behaviors, empower informal social networks, distribute decision making, align strategic need with organizational capability, and affect real impact onto the organization. These are powerful and effective practices for introducing and managing transitions in your organization, empowering teams to move towards an entrepreneurial agility mindset.

During this workshop, participants will do a deep dive into the implementation of enterprise-level agile coaching practices and techniques to manage entire change programs. Individuals will come out with understanding of how agile concepts can be used to manage transformations in any environment - such as large businesses, non-profit organizations, governmental agencies, and technological startups - even those that do not include IT or a digital transformation.

What you will learn

1. Promote Engagement

Active staff participation and team self-organization are key elements to rapidly responding to changing customer demands. This course gives you the skills needed to help individuals, teams and whole organizations through the challenges they face when embracing this kind of agility mindset. Acquire the skills needed to support a shift towards sustainable change and a lean agile culture, allowing the organization to become more responsive and more value-driven.

We will understand where change resistance comes from, and how to apply lightweight management techniques to face the complexity of transformation. As it has been the case with agile methodologies, change can come from the trenches - it does not matter your hierarchical position in the organization.

2. Gain Adoption

Worried you don’t have enough clout? This is a common fear generated from decades of hierarchical management programming. You will learn the skills and understanding of how to generate alignment, innovation, and clear direction forwards in large groups with diverse opinions, identify and overcome resistance systemically, reduce risk and gain a foothold in the culture.

3. Enable a lean agile culture

No transformation sticks unless it is rooted in the culture - but culture cannot be bought or applied, it must be developed. Create a change approach that is tailored to your unique environment using lightweight management tools, techniques for large group facilitation, and the ability to coordinate, track and measure multiple concurrent change experiments.

Certification

ICP-CAT

ICAgile Certified Professional - Coaching Agile Transitions

This workshop covers strict learning objectives set forth by ICAgile. After participative attendance and the completion of the post-workshop requirements, the facilitator qualifies participants to become an ICAgile Certified Professional in Coaching Agile Transitions (ICP-CAT). If the facilitator identifies a lack of achievement of the learning objectives, additional post-workshop materials may need to be submitted before certification. The certification process does not rely on testing, relying instead on active participation and engagement with the material. The certification is included in the price of the course.

This continuing education certification is a key step toward achieving the ICAgile Certified Expert-Enterprise Agile Coaching (ICE-EC) designation the industry’s first competence-based certification for Enterprise Agile Coaching.

Audience

Our main area of expertise is the transformation of work environments. If you are involved in an enterprise transformation, this workshop is for you. While this may be relevant for people from many varied walks of life, there are four profiles which are most common in our events:

  • Agile Coaches: Interested in scaling and propagating agile transformation throughout the organization while managing and communicating change in a way that makes sense to today’s leaders.
  • Change Managers: Who know plenty of change methods and techniques, and are looking for modern ideas designed to work with business agility issues in today’s rapid pace of transformation.
  • Consultants: Who want to take their skills to the next level and into the organizational layer. You’ll learn how to manage impediments beyond the team.
  • Leaders: Who are in it for the long-haul, but feel stuck with how to influence change. You’ll learn how to best facilitate change by learning ideas from many disciplines.

Format

We abide by the “hands-on” method of learning, where each concept is studied as a module that contains theory, practice, and discussion. Regardless of the length of the workshop, these are intense days of collaborative activities where you will learn by doing, sharing and discussing findings in small groups.

Unless explicitly indicated, our events include all you need for a day of intense mental activity: coffee, snacks, lunch, and plenty of breaks. We choose only prime locations to conduct events in, and strive to provide the best experience possible. It is a safe environment where we have fun and come out with plenty to talk about.

Pre-requisites

While there are no specific pre-requisites to this course, we recommend familiarity with team or professional coaching, management consulting, business agility, organizational design, and/or strong background in change management in order to maximize your learning opportunity.
