Supporting the development of agile teams to ensure effective outcomes.

Agile coaches help train corporate teams on the agile methodology and oversee the development of agile teams to ensure effective outcomes for the organization. They are responsible for guiding teams through the implementation process and are tasked with encouraging workers and leadership to embrace the agile method. The agile coach’s ultimate goal is to arm agile teams with the right knowledge, tools and training so that they’ll be able to use agile to its full potential.

Implementing agile can help streamline processes, but it isn’t easy to make significant changes in an organization. Encouraging everyone to get on board with a new methodology requires significant effort on the part of management. Agile coaches giving guidance can help teams navigate through the rough patches - specially in the early period when the team or management questions the value of agile.

An agile coach will keep businesses on task while they embark on building internal agile development teams — which can help save time, money and resources. The coach serves as an objective party to help navigate common roadblocks and pain points in the adoption process. Before they leave, the goal is to have a fully functioning agile team that is energized and ready to embrace the methodology.

Agile Team Facilitation:

Focuses primarily on the mindset and role of an agile team facilitator, while also providing group facilitation tools and techniques for effectively designing meetings and workshops that both engage the entire audience and drive towards agreed-upon outcomes. Cohorts will develop an appreciation for the art of facilitation as key to fostering collaboration and enabling self-organizing teams. In addition, they will build their facilitator toolkits and gain experience facilitating specific agile practices most relevant to their organizational context.

Agile Coaching:

Focuses primarily on the mindset, roles, and responsibilities of an Agile Coach. You will be able to differentiate between and among mentoring, facilitating, professional coaching and teaching, and will also gain the skills needed to create a safe environment for meaningful collaboration and healthy conflict resolution within an agile team. You will also gain the foundational team coaching skills and team development concepts for starting and growing teams while focusing on teams and organizations as human systems. A key part of this track focuses on developing an understanding of the professional coaching skillset and the value of honing these skills to serve individuals on an agile team.
